Terms of use

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These terms govern your use of DealOwl: the website, the browser extension, the alerts bot and the channels and groups we run on Telegram, WhatsApp and social media. By using them you confirm you have read and agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

1. Who we are

The service is run by the operator of DealOwl. Contact us at the contact details given on the site.

2. What the service is (and isn’t)

DealOwl gathers and compares product prices from online retailers, shows price history, and shares deals and voucher codes. It is an information and referral service.

  • We are not a retailer. We don’t sell, deliver, charge for or exchange products. The purchase is made on the retailer’s site, and the retailer is the only seller, responsible for the product, final price, payment, delivery, guarantee, returns and customer service. Your contract is with the retailer.
  • We never take payments and never ask for passwords or card details. Be wary of anyone who does.
  • The retailers and products shown are those we track; we don’t cover the whole market. Phrases such as “lowest price” mean the lowest among the retailers and listings we monitor, at the time we looked.

3. Advertising and affiliate links

Links to retailers are generally affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, we may earn a commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you. This does not change the price you pay and does not decide the order or the lowest price shown in comparisons. Content containing affiliate links is advertising and is labelled as such on the site, in the footer and in our channels, in line with the CAP Code and CMA guidance.

4. Prices, discounts, voucher codes and availability

  • Prices, discounts, delivery, voucher codes and stock are those we last checked and can change at any time, including after a deal is posted. The time of the last check is shown on the page.
  • Data comes from retailers, affiliate networks and automatic collection, and may contain errors (wrong price, wrong product, colour or size variants, an offer that has ended). Check the final price, delivery cost and conditions on the retailer’s page before you buy.
  • The retailer sets the price and honours the offer. We can’t guarantee an offer stays available, and a differing price is a matter for the retailer.
  • Price history reflects what we have observed since we began tracking the product and is not a recommendation to buy. Badges such as “lowest price” and “discount confirmed” are indicators based on that history, not a guarantee.
  • Voucher codes have rules and expiry dates set by the retailer, who may withdraw them.

5. Alerts, channels and groups

  • Price alerts through our Telegram bot are sent on a reasonable-efforts basis, with no guarantee of timing or delivery. Send /stop to the bot to stop them.
  • Channels and groups run on third-party platforms whose own terms you must also follow.
  • In groups and channels, don’t post spam, links to third parties or other retailers without permission, scams, or offensive, discriminatory, unlawful or infringing content. Anyone who does may be removed without notice.

6. Browser extension

The extension shows price history and other retailers on a product page. It works only on supported retailers, doesn’t read other tabs, and handles data as described in the Privacy Policy. You can remove it at any time.

7. Acceptable use

  • Use the service lawfully, for personal use and in good faith.
  • You must not copy content in bulk (scraping), use bots, overload our infrastructure, try to bypass limits or reach restricted areas, or reproduce the database or comparisons commercially without our written permission.
  • You must not generate artificial clicks or purchases, or otherwise manipulate the affiliate system.

8. Intellectual property

The site, its layout, code, our own text, the price history and the organisation of the data belong to DealOwl and are protected by intellectual property law. Names, brands, logos and product images belong to retailers, manufacturers and their respective owners and appear only to identify offers; there is no sponsorship or affiliation unless stated. If you hold a right and want content corrected or removed, write to the contact details given on the site with the page and reason.

9. Third-party links and services

The site links to retailer sites and other platforms. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, policies or practices.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the service running but it may be unavailable or change because of maintenance, third-party failures or other reasons. We may change, suspend or end parts of the service.

11. Our responsibility

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for purchasing decisions based on the information shown, for errors or out-of-date prices and stock supplied by retailers, or for problems with the product, payment, delivery, guarantee or service, which are the retailer’s. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

If you have a problem with a purchase, contact the retailer’s customer service first. If that doesn’t resolve it, you can use the retailer’s alternative dispute resolution scheme or get free advice from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk).

12. Privacy and cookies

We handle personal data under our Privacy Policy and use cookies under our Cookie Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date of the latest update is at the top, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new version. Significant changes will be highlighted.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and as a consumer you keep the mandatory protections of the law where you live.
